My art tries to capture the gesture and essence of the being I am creating. The sculptures are psychological and deal with universal feelings such as loneliness, detachment, fear, power , and joy . I try to create a raw and primitive feeling to evoke emotion while viewing the sculpture. The art can be viewed at different levels of meaning and depends on the viewer’s perspective.

I work in various mediums . These materials create different textures which allows for different feelings or moods. Whether it is working in wax to create a bronze or wrapping fabric around an armature, each sculpture is unique . All sculptures are one of a kind.

Born in Yonkers, New York, I acquired my MS in art education from Syracuse University. My BA in Fine Arts was obtained from Herbert H Lehman College, a division of City College of New York. A major goal for me was to teach art. I taught art in the New Jersey Public Schools for twenty-five years emphasizing art history and cultural diversity. I continue to teach at Crealde School of Art in Winter Park , Florida.

In 1999 I moved to Orlando to actively pursue my art career. “The Hunt” is in the permanent collection of the Crealde Sculpture Garden . In 2004 and 2007, I received grants from United Arts to continue my sculpture. Dancing Crane Gallery, Bradenton , Florida and Art on Symmes Gallery, Fairfield,Ohio represent my art. I have had many sculptures in Public Art venues such as Epcot, Kissimmee, Eustis and Deland. I have collectors both Nationally and Internationally and have created commissioned sculptures for many patrons.
